Correspondences of the Wheel

North – Spirits of Earth

EarthIn this case ‘earth’ means the soil beneath our feet: rock, stone, chalk, and clay. Everything that this supports: trees, plants, peat, oil. All creatures: slugs, bugs, rats, cats, wolf, bear, ape, man.

The tangible, the physical, that which we can touch.

AirThe air that surrounds our planet and everything this supports. The winged creatures that buzz, whine, swoop, and soar; bee, gnat, blackbird, hawk. Winds that rush and moan. Breezes that sigh and caress.

Thoughts, clarity of mind, freshness.

FireThe flame of a candle; the red hot glow in the coal; the burning logs, the inferno, the erupting volcano. Here be dragons, and a few lizards, salamanders, phoenix, and the wily vixen.

You will make new correspondences every time you walk the wheel. Each year you will find new ones. Let them speak to you. Look them up. Why do I keep noticing burdock? Why do I keep hearing the skylark?

Your wheel of correspondence will be personal to you, there is no right or wrong only that which we need.
